Ross Pointon (168.5) vs Rich Clementi (169.5)
Middleweight Chris Price weighed in 7 pounds over the 185 pound limit…..7 POUNDS?!?!?! What is that all about? There must be something behind that because you just don’t see professional fighters weigh in 7 pounds overweight, EVER. I got the impression that Chris is a very hard worker as well as a straight shooter from an interview conducted on Saturday by our friends at UFCjunkie.com(who will be sponsoring Sean Salmon), and that is what makes this news so shocking.
Reportedly, Chris Price thanked Ed “Short Fuse” Herman for accepting the fight after being overweight, “Short Fuse” responded; “you weren’t getting off that easy.” That is an attitude I love to see in a fighter; anytime, anywhere. Although, Herman desperately needs to have, not only a victory, but an impressive one at that. Not fighting tomorrow would be a huge setback for Herman after being upset by Jason McDonald at Ortiz vs. Shamrock 3: The Final Chapter, and also losing his fight before that to Kendall Grove at the Ultimate Fighter 3 finale. Either way, I’m glad that “Short Fuse” came to the decision he did, and I think we are in for one hell of a night of fights tomorrow.
I hope everyone enjoyed the interview with John “Hurricane” Halverson that was posted last night. Make sure you guys order UFC 67 Feb. 3rd on pay per view and root John on as he fights Roger Huerta in a lightweight bout. I have no doubt that “Hurricane” will shake things up in that division, and before long, we will be watching him in a main event challenging for the title.
