According to Northjersey.com; Pro Elite Inc. , the entity that owns Elite XC, is being sued for $10 million by Wallid Ismail who claims they broke a multimillion-dollar deal with him by giving a job promoting and organizing events, which was promised to him, to Gary Shaw. Ismail seeks compensation for his contribution in founding Pro Elite Inc. His suit states that Pro Elite secured the Showtime deal with the knowledge he gained from 20 years fighting and promoting mma events in his company Jungle Fight Championship. He also claims he never got the 25% share of the company he was promised.
Pro Elite’s side of the story is that “There is no enforceable agreement, or any agreement,” between Pro Elite and Wallid Ismail. Pro elite claims the deal was never sealed and that talks broke down shortly before the deal was to close. According to Pro Elite’s defense, Pro Elite learned that Ismail had partners in the Jungle Fight Website, which would then prevent the deal from happening.
Pro Elite would not comment on the suit, but Gary Shaw did state that the deal with Showtime wouldn’t have been possible without his knowledge and experience. Ismail said in an interview that when he met the defendants, they knew nothing about mma and had never even been in an arena. You can read the full story at Northjersey.com.
This has the potential to be a long, drawn out, ugly battle. There are three sides to every story; one persons side, the other persons side, and then there is the truth. The truth will hopefully come out in court. There is really no way to know who is lying and who isn’t, you can only hope that there is a quick resolution to this and then we can focus on mma, not frivolous lawsuits.
